I Am The Fit Dad...Read If You'd Like.

I am the Fit Dad and I am here to rescue you from your fatty ways. I'm a mild-mannered personal trainer and proud daddy by day, but when danger strikes I transform into my alter-ego, The Fit Dad, to defeat the Evil Dr. Fatty and his legion of goons. Basically what I'm saying is this is a bunch of mindless ramblings, with some workout and diet tips thrown in for good measure.

Sometimes…

I remember one of those silly documentary-esque thingies MTV did with Chris Rock and one of this quotes was “Sometimes I just like to steal.” and it was of course done in his stern speaking style.

In honor of that quote I give you a few of my “Sometimes”

Sometimes I just like to sit on my ass and be lazy.

Sometimes I just like to do as many stinkin’ push-ups in a row as I can before my chest, shoulders and triceps feel like they are going to literally detach themselves from my body and walk away.

Sometimes I just like to be mean.  I’m not a mean person by nature, but sometimes when you’re in the service industry, you have to be really mean.  Not to clients, just to random people - and usually while driving.  Safe…I know, but still necessary.

Sometimes I watch Maren while she sleeps.  On some level that’s a little creepy, but kids are so dang cute and peaceful while sleeping.

Sometimes I’ll do a round of 100.  I pick 3 exercises - usually deadlifts, dips and some type of push-up variation - and do 10 sets of 10 reps.  I pick a challenging weight/style of push-up, use perfect form and time myself.  I ALWAYS pay for it the next day (or 3), but the rush after doing this workout is amazing…and this workout is just plain stupid.

Sometimes I sit and shake my head at the emails, blog posts and programs some of my fellow fitness pros put out.  At times people in my industry go way too far in their marketing hype and are no better than the supplement industry that we like to bash so much.

Sometimes I talk too much and write too long.

That time is now so I will end my list of “sometimes”

Peace out homies!
