There comes a time
There comes a time in all our lives when we either get it, or we say “Screw it” and move on with something different.
Sometimes when we move on we’re giving up when we know, deep down in our gut, that we’re doing something great, and other times moving on is for the best.
The times when moving on is NOT okay is when you know you’re doing something great, something you were born to do, something you LOVE doing, something that brings you joy and you’re just giving up because it’s too damn hard, people tell you you’re crazy, you let self-doubt dig in and make a hole in your brain and you listen to the doubters (most of the people you encounter will be doubters).
It’s not okay to quit when you’re in that situation.
There comes a time in all our lives, I suppose it’s the mythical “fork in the road,” when we either make the decision to forge ahead no matter the consequences because we know we’re doing what we’re meant to do, or we choose the other path that seems easier at first and seems to be lined with palm trees, margaritas and sandy beaches, but off in the distance, just past the point where our eyes can see, it becomes lined with darkness because that path has taken you away from your joy.
The other path, the right path, is flipped. The beginning is marked with thorn bushes, darkness and sometimes solitude (even though you’re never alone), but there’s a point past the point your eyes can see that is all palm trees, sandy beaches and margaritas because that’s where you’re supposed to end up.
It looks like that because you will respect, cherish and love your situation after having gone through that short part of your life.
What decision will you make when you come to that fork in the road?
Will you make the right decision, or the easy decision?
Some may say “I’ve already come through so much hardship and I just can’t go through anymore!” and to those I say just relax and trust your instincts. If your gut led you to this point in life, it’s just life testing your resolve to see if you really, truly want what you say you do.
All successful people come to this point in their lives and have all made the same decision you’re making.
Make the right decision. Choose the path that takes you to the promised land - whatever your promised land is - and respect the hard times while busting your ass to see it through.
